Dear Cousin,
I'm in
love with a policeman but I don't know what his number is -
the man who pulled my trousers down because I smelled of cannabis.
I lived in a broken bus at the Pilton Green Gathering.
I was a passenger in a minivan going to the shops.
I'd stashed my pipe and knife on the bus.
Lots of policemen flagged us down and one of them questioned me.
I told them my name and addresses.
When I told him that I prefer women and dogs he replied:
"Funny I thought men were more your style"
and made a joke about the price of hippy women.
Some of my best friends are whores.
Then he took me behind a police van and ordered
Open Up Your Trousers George!'
I said no. And then he got angry and said he might have me taken
somewhere else and then I told him that I was nonviolent, that I
wouldn't hit him, that "you can if you want to", and then he pulled my
trousers down and then I fell in love?
For years I had smoked and worked. Then they busted my friend. I sussed their game - divide and rule - remember. I resigned, followed a convoy, scored a bus, got threatened and fell in love with an anonomouse uniform ... or else.
An outlaw until that day that day that similar laws for cannabis, alcohol and tobacco trades.
wishing you a brave new year,

The new Foreign Secretary, Francis Pym, told the Commons that Britain would do all it could to acheive a settlement without fighting. On Saturday 2st May Mr Pym was in Washington with Alexander Haig negotiating a peaceful settlement. He told the Times that 'no further military action is envisaged at the moment, except to keep the exclusion zone secure.' Early on 2nd May Reuters reported that the Peruvian president Belaunde said that peace negotiations between Argentina and Britain were under way and that both countries had agreed in principal to cease hostilities.
However, as Tam Dalyell told the Commons on 24th March 1983, Margaret Thatcher gave the orders pre-lunch at Chequers on Sunday 2nd May 1982 for HMS Conqueror to unleash its Mark 8 torpedoes against the Belgrano, behind the back of her Foreign Secretary, without consulting our allies the American Government, in the knowledge that the Belgrano and her escorts were at that time no conceivable threat to the task force and in the knowledge that Galtieri had ordered the withdrawal of the army from the Falklands- Malvinas on the evening of Saturday, 1 May, on the basis of the Peruvian-American United nations Peace terms.
368 Argentineans died. The bloodstains are offside. Now peace had no chance. Serious fighting began. At the very least Thatcher, in her self-appointed role as Great British Conservative leader is guilty of an act of reckless warfare and idiotic nationalism. In a moment of crisis I believe that Ronald Reagan would listen to advice and remember the words of the splendid American Constitution; that is why I am more scared of Thatcher than of Reagan. British popular opinion, following the newspapers, is that she is a hero. I suggest that it is our duty to publicise Thatcher's guilt before this Lady Macbeth brings about the destruction of everybody.

I am horrified by the effects of alcohol and heroin abuse on individuals and society. It is rare to find an issue of a local newspaper without reports of alcohol or heroin related tragedies. People are dying, relationships are being ruined. They are dangerous and addictive drugs and ought to be illegal.
Cannabis is a soft drug, it is not addictive. The two main dangers to
cannabis users are contact with other illegal drugs and legal harassment.
Cannabis smoking is not a transitory fashion: it is in society to stay. It
must be legalised soon: the illegal cannabis trade is financing the mafia,
the terrorism of the IRA and the PLO. Arguments against full legalisation
stink of stagnant conservatism or classic doublethink. Is this why I walked
into Glastonbury police station with cannabis in my pocket and got busted?

George, of Greenlands Farm, Glastonbury, admitted possession cannabis resin and was fined £50. he was ordered to pay £20 costs and an order was made for the destruction of the drugs.
The court heard from Mr W Cole, prosecuting, at about 2.30pm on January 18 George had walked in to Glastonbury police station.
Following a conversation he was detained and searched and a piece of vegetable matter and a pipe were found. Later a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act was executed at his home and certain items seized.
Forensic examination of the vegetable matter seized showed it to be 1.76 grams of cannabis resin. None of the other items seized was found to contain drugs.
In court George said he was a single man and unemployed having formerly worked as a computer programmer. He said that he had bought a bus to travel around in but it blew up.
In a statement after the case George said that on January 18 he read in The Times that Linda McCartney had been arrested and charged with possession of cannabis.
Later that day he walked into Glastonbury police station to symbolically express his solidarity.
"Taxation of cannabis could help to feed, clothe, house and educate millions" he said.
"Cannabis is a petty matter which takes up valuable police resources.
People should be able to make up their own minds about what is right or
wrong"

David Steel the Liberal Leader spoke at the '84 Liberal Assembly about tactics for attaining world peace and justice, and about the practicalities of negotiating with Kremlin conservatives. We listened but voted for withdrawal of Cruise forthwith. They are dangerous cancerous missiles and also a symbol to the peace movement. We voted with the Greenham Women and with Youth CND, emotionally rather than rationally. I did not cheer: but it had to be done. David's speech the next day was sensational: he bounced. We were 99% behind him, the next Prime Minister.

Inside the festival convoy punks hippies punks anarchists angels and mutants were... selling cannabis, speed, acid and booze. But experience had shown that junkies have no honour - they steal from children, they are intolerable. So smack was banned, and an angry smack dealer with a shotgun was arrested by cops.
Children in cities towns and villages are chasing the dragon: 'its only skag', they don't understand that it's impure heroin, medicinally almost as dangerous as alcohol and glue. They see that cannabis is prohibited whilst alcohol, that dangerous addictive drug, is advertised and sold almost everywhere
Liberal politicians whisper, they don't want to scare the tabloid-educated public which equates Cannabis with drugs like heroin.
Every society uses recreational drugs, it is drug abuse which must be controlled. People are dying, families are disintegrating, relationships are being ruined.
Alcohol heroin cocaine and glue are dangerous addictive drugs and ought to be illegal. For their own sakes imprison anybody caught in possession of even a trace of heroin: until they promise not to use it again.
Heroin abuse is insane. Stop heroin.

In Dyfed a boy with a beard took my adjustable spanner 'to test me'. I think he wanted to beat me up, to prove his manhood. Dogs live like that. Whence legal systems, and honour among thieves. If a law passed by a democratic parliament of my equals commands me then that is a very strong reason to obey, but I am free to disobey if I feel that I ought. Indeed, I felt it my duty to travel to Stonehenge last summer and to lose the battle, perhaps when I have read more Jung I will understand why I am proud...
Libertarian philosophers argue about the right to justly acquired property; I worked for three years to buy my bus and toolkit, but the society in which I worked exploits the powerless in the third world. The report explores the conflict of civil liberties between travelling people and settled people. It recommends that Local Authorities obey the 1968 Caravan Sites Act, that "a festival site near Stonehenge be provided for 1987", and that, after farmer Atwell's ordeal, eviction procedures in relation to trespass as a civil offence be made easier.
Several of the numbers in the booklet are wrong! There were 200,000 people at Stonehenge in 1984; three convoys met at Savernake on 31st May 1985; surely the ratio of 400 adults to 100 kids at Stoney Cross is wrong; many more than 29 homes were impounded and destroyed; in June 1986 the London Walk became the Salisbury Protest who camped at Yarnbury then becoming the Hanging Langford Carnival.
Much use of the phrase 'members of the convoy' is used in this and lesser documents. Is this like being a member of the National Trust or of the Liberal Party? In June '86 one convoy was confiscated at Stoney Cross and another near Hanging Langford. Which was the Peace Convoy that drove from Stonehenge to Greenham in 1982? The report also mentions 'people from the convoy', 'hippy convoys', 'convoy walkers' and 'convoy campers'. Verily sayeth Phil: "The convoy, it's not the vehicles, it's the people, and now's the time for all true Englishmen..."... but Stonehenge is global, there were festival-goers from India, Cymru, Canada and the Hopis.
Stonehenge is essential to the convoy culture: a fusion of individual enlightenment and collective unconsciousness! Ethnic with three 'f's.
I predict next summer there will be 150,000 arrests near Stonehenge: a protest against this crazy century.

Sunday: I shall not mention any names but say simply that they were all fabulous, original, and extremely talented.
Take on George , an erstwhile real-time programmer with GEC. After three years' working on GEC's Integrated Services Digital Network, George was a bit bored.
So he packed it all in and bought a bus to set off round the world.
The bus broke down and by the time George had got it running again he could only afford to go as far as Wales.
Never mind, adventures can start closer to home. George had all his bus windows smashed by police with he was as at Stonehenge.
After a variety of jobs, including being a litter picker at the Pilton pop festival, George decided to pick up his programming life again.
He signed up for the Enterprise Allowance Scheme at £40 a week as a Software Engineer.
George says he doesn't fancy the nine-to-five in a suit rigmarole. His ideal is to run his Olivetti PC from a windmill on top of his bus.
He's on the hunt for a few projects to take on, and placed an advert in a recent issue of LOOT magazine to that effect.
So anyone out there who doesn't think that a two-piece suit is an essential part of a programmer's support environment, give us a ring and we'll put you in touch with George.
I joined the British liberal Party in 1983, after Thatcher, the Belgrano, and all that. To declare an exclusion zone and then torpedo outside it was not cricket. She's a murdering cheat.
To wear any label, whether Liberal, socialist, anarchist, hippy, punk whatever is, unless you're a clone of the leader, compromise. But if everyone who didn't vote had voted against them Thatcher wouldn't be in Number 10 attacking the poor, the left and the weird. You say you're innocent not voting, hands clean, well you're guilty, it's your fault. Some governments are worse than others. And if her confrontation leads to bloody revolution it would be violent anarchy, dead kids, feuding gangs, lynching, survival of the fittest, barbarian.
One of my dreams is anarchism, mutual aid, nobody's naughty so the police and armies have no work so they're disbanded. Anarchism good, anarchy bad.
I'm a liberal not an anarchist because I believe in compulsory taxation. Cannabis should be legal but heroin not.
I went to Harrogate and voted to destroy the old Liberal Party. They're a good bunch, healthy, like a family not a class. Not perfect. What's bad is Party Chauvinism, we are the people, they are not, vote for only us, like football teams, countries, shades of red.
I'd like to throw out the name 'Liberal Party'. Then Joan Ruddock could say she's a liberal without antagonising the Labour chauvinists. Because she is, and Paisley ain't.
The opposite of liberal is closed, prejudiced, bigoted, nazi...
Ah but, you say, come the revolution...
The revolution is today.
Dice George Miles
He states dogmatically that some governments are worse than others as if this were a total answer to anarchism, and is obviously unaware that few if any anarchists would deny this, though most would say the differences are of degree rather than of kind; and would say that the delusion that you can cure the ills of government by the methods of government is bound to be self-defeating.
From this dogma he deduces that everyone should have subordinated all principles in order to vote against Thatcher. If that were true (and if one ignores the experience of history that rule by pragmatic reformist government always results in disillusion and despair in the supporters of reform, and in consequence paves a way for a return to even more vigorous right wing governments) it would be an argument for voting Labour, not for voting for the Alliance, since the former had a chance of defeating Thatcher and the latter did not.
So your correspondent proves by his own past actions that he does not believe the logic of his own case. He should ask himself why, if he believes Thatcher to be the ultimate evil, and that all principles should be subordinated in her defeat, he and his friends did not throw all the weight they could behind the only force capable of defeating her. In fact while he expects anarchists to abandon our principles of libertarian socialism, he is not prepared to abandon the Alliance's of bureaucratic capitalism.
He is proud of the fact that he voted to end the Liberal Party ( a party which twenty years ago campaigned on 'which twin is the Tory' and against the bureaucracy and conservatism of the Labour leadership), in favour of merging with a body formed by the most bureaucratic and conservative elements of that leadership, who were ousted from power in the Labour party as a result of campaigns which twenty years ago the Liberals claimed to have initiated.
Too true mate you are not an anarchist,
nor are you a radical liberal, you're
a small conservative, who feels
threatened by Thatcher's threat to the
status quo.

But last June in the dark there were yobs fighting the police: they spoilt it. Entering Stonehenge by force is like rape.
In June '85 riot police smashed the rainbow convoy, but June '86 when hundreds got arrested nonviolently was better. In June '87 we waited in the Shrewton road near where the Avenue used to start until the English Heritage 'guardians' opened their gate and let us in for a few hours. It was good.
Since time immemorial common people have come in peace to see the sun rise over the Hele-stone.
This June the police want to cancel Wednesday's Solstice, I want to walk there and play flute - because if it's all stopped because of the troublemakers then bad will have triumphed over good.

Natasha the goat, who attempted to eat a copy of Festival Eye magazine, joined seasoned New Age travellers on the banks of the Thames for a send-off picnic of cans of beer, strawberries and fruit juice.
Not invited, however, was the Chief Constable of Wiltshire, Mr Walter Girven, who has warned all travellers to stay away from Stonehenge or face the full force of police powers. Landowners have been advised against providing a site for a midsummer festival because of alleged public order risks.
Injunctions prohibiting entry have also been granted to the National Trust, local farmers and others whose land is within a three-mile area of the stones. English Heritage will close Stonehenge for 24 hours on the summer solstice.
Nevertheless thousands of travellers are expected to make the journey. Last year the confrontation ended in 115 arrests. Wiltshire police say 33 officers were injured.
"Natasha walked all the way to Stonehenge last year" said a soft spoken man in gold-rimmed spectacles who goes by the name of Dice George. "She's really good. It breaks the ice when you are faced with police officers in riot gear and she starts chewing a hedge".
George's home, a parked bus in Shepherd's Bush, west London, lost several windows in the 1985 clash with Wiltshire police which has passed into tradition as the battle of the Beanfield. Legal actions against the police are still outstanding.
Wearing a leather pilot's hat, it's earflaps
turned down over his long grey hair, Mr Don Aitken of the Travellers
Aid Trust chatted with other Stonehenge veterans. He believes the
police are taking a harder line than ever before. "We assumed there
would be a change for the better after last year", he said, "I think
people will be satisfied this year finding any site".

1985, the beanfield, Stony Cross, the Convoy (good honest drugs dealers) split up. Brew crew gangs arose. Some great (Greenlands). Vast sums of cash went off-site for booze (HMG tax!). Some found it easier to terrorise and rip off students, locals, and gentle hobbitses. Festivals declined. Thatcher's greedy 80s.

It's as symbol. If we all said of what then we should all have used different words, ideas, pictures, poetry.
And it seems to me that all the world is a stage, and every man woman and child a star, and Stonehenge a theatre, for better or worse, and tinker tailor baddy cop, we're all the same mutant monkey family on the same sick earth; and the analogy of local mummy daddy family with global human family opens out into a toddler's fearless curiosity, a 4-year-old's gimme yuppy zest, and the duties of an adult - not to sick doggy survivalism but to freedom, truth, art, etcetera...
And I do believe that first, even before freedom, comes LOVE.

Dear Green Anarchists, Judge Pickles says legalise cannabis today and then, if this doesn't lead to a massive increase in heroin use, then legalise H.
Yes, legalise the cannabis trade, tax it for hospitals and the UN and the poor arid producers, Palestinians, Ethiopians, Pakis etcetera.
He says each adult should be free to do as they will with their bodies, provided they don't harm others. Too many people I knew tried it, declined, became junkys, lied, stole, died. It's like walking between the Underground rails. Mad. Therefore anyone choosing skag is insane. Thus banning smack does not disobey freedom for adults. This means adulthood is not an age but an attitude, a headstate, an understanding (of the moral law?) (more or less)...
Years ago I wrote you should grass on people who use heroin - for their own sakes. I was soaring on rhetoric, outrageous propaganda to make you think - I never have. When needles or skag come out I go 'yeurgh' and disgusted walk out.
I'm an Ippy - no H. (smoke 'ash).
That's H the drug. Needles is another issue. So many people used to jack up speed- which is a softer drug and makes them think they're clever but after days without sleep they're terrible arseholes (which is an insult to arseholes).
Needles: now for all that junkys claim they're clean, I reckon once you get in the habit then drunk one night you're gonna be offered twos up and feel it rude to refuse your mate, paranoid to think rationally of Aids and Hep, live for today. in five years half of them will be dead of Aids and their girlfriends and their boyfriends' girlfriends' boyfriends' ... its a bastard vicious virus how it mushrooms dormant for five years then bursts out exponentially - if you assume each carrier infects on friend per month then in five years it mushrooms to two raised to the power sixty which is zillions.

Dear Stonehengers: 1974-84 Stonehenge Free Festivals, rock n roll acid dancers all night with Hawkwind, Here+Now, and countless nameless bands. At local noon when the small south stone 11's shadow was shortest and northest white robed alleged druids' circle rituals: commoners smoking, heckling, empathising; then in comes the hippy procession with conch, chillums, ashes, ponies, guitars, etc etc etc...
June '85 riot police ambushed our convoy for Criminal Damage to Grass and Beans By Driving On It etcetera. June (86 they arrested hundreds for "Obstructing The Pavement By Walking On It Towards Stonehenge.")
(Being interned for non-violently crossing their line earns equal karma points to walking into the Stones - i.e. treble tops.)
Some times since we've dodged the English Harlotage contraceptions.
(Meanwhile silent but deadly like a woodworm's fart aids germs are rotting the mightiest oaks and freshest greens - 'Five Years' sang Bowie)
March non-sunrise '92 lying puking dribbling drunk on damson wine outside the hele stone fence, in tune with the planet and Stones, fenced and sick from greed - a few hopped the fence to be rugby tackled and evicted, playing NewAge British Bulldog?
Let the great rave dancing evolve, transcend from clockwork discos to outdoor dancing with live bands, feeding energy back to the musicians...
The word 'hippy' was coined in the '60s but we've always been here: called
bohemians, gypsies, mutants, weirdos, witches, alchemists, shivites,
ascetics, shamans or whatever: Straights' laws restricting drug use to
booze and fags are but decades old: brits smoked pipes long before tobacco
was imported; and you can imagine why I believe the builders of Stonehenge
had festivals with magic mushroom wine... your cousin, (dice)george

STONEHENGE CAMPAIGN NEWSLETTER MARCH 1993 ==========GLASTONBURY MEETING=========== Last years meeting was a minor success, 23-ish of us met in the cafe, leaving the hall to the noisy kids. Perhaps this year we'll fill the hall again??? I've set up this meeting not to tell you my views or to hear the same old hacks but to listen to new voices. Thats why I think we should sit in a talking stick circle, and speak in turn ( with short interruptions for points of information, jokes etc) If you can't wait for your turn, If you can't respect other people, then how the luck will we ever get a free and peaceful festival together? ======== (diceG)===================
Imagine Willy's Stonehenge Rave - huge speakers between Standing Stones, ravers semaphore dancing on top no no no it's wrong to climb on the Stones, lets dance on the mounds, we don't need electrickery inside Stonehenge, pipes strings drums voices, look at the photos in old Festival Eyes - I get jealous hearing of the legendary 60's but Stonehenge Free Festival in 1984 was a whole month, time enough for random neighbours to become family (and the chalk drained rain unlike Somerset's mud) and when was the first? 1974? no: four thousand years ago when we built it.

====== 9 December 1992 =======
Sitting on my bus roof with 3 blankets and 2 kids watching the monster shadow eating up the moon - one said "wow", another "wicked" - then they slept while I waited and smoked a toast dreaming of ancient full moon festivals, the dread and wonder of it, the moon earth and sun in a dead straight line, the time to synchronise watches, to reset the Aubrey hole moon marker stones - their language may have been an early form of Welsh or closer to Karelian Finnish or Siberian Lapp; did they have wheels or rollers, could they read and write on wood - we know they could calculate and knew more of predicting eclipses than you or I ('know' in the sense of knowing how to, how to use a tool, not why - their theories and gods can only be dreamed of). Stonehenge is writing in stone (and evidence of teamwork (and I'd guess slavery (in your imaginings do you have the mathematicians and warriors on ponies, sledges, boats, chariots))) as the moon glimmered then glinted in an arc top left and kissed her tiny hand and because it's the full moon nearest Winter Solstice yelled across site "Happy New Year!"

All Right? No! Bit of a lefty, my cousins. The richest 10% are secretly supporting the greens to spit the anti-cons vote 4 ways (divide and rule), so in 1997 they'd win Westminster 30:20:20:20:10 (of the 50% who get to register their vote) and pass more horrid Westminster laws (subtley brainwashed Sun'readers' etc)
OK - vote Green Rainbow locally and Euro, but when the Westminster Elections come compromise and tactically vote Lib/Lab for a hung parliament (heh heh heh!)

'Criminal Art' at Cooltan - an artists' collective occupying an old dolehouse and currently under threat - focuses on these issues in paintings, photographs, sculpture, installations and performances by over 30 artists who look at topics as diverse as motorway protest and personal freedom
Combinations of text and images are effectively used to convey both horror and fact in Terry Dennet and Shadeed Macgregor's poignant 'Eating Rough/Sleeping Rough', an evocation of the grim realities of life on the street.
The impact of Dice George's 'Stonehenge Window' - of police statements, half-concealed behind a smashed sheet of thick glass - is both chilling and brutal.
Michelle Baharier's 'English Country Garden', a lurid assembly of technicolour flowers in a derelict city setting, has a suitably edgy setting; so does Angela Aydinian's paper collage contrasting urban blight with the order and symmetry of classical architecture. In the context of this show, it is difficult to take seriously Karen Widler's admonition that 'Sweetness is the Purist Political Action' which appears to be in direct conflict with Candida Blyth's 'Brief Blue Period', and aggressive installation which features a blue-stained tampon beneath the slogan 'Sexist Art History is Criminal'.
In this exhibition, passion and argument are far more arresting than pious hope .

Dear Squallists Squallees, and Squallettes,
It was at an early Festival that people decided to build Stonehenge .
For the record, when on June 1st 1985 Thatcher's police and 'specials' charged the hippy convoy in a grass field near Stonehenge, many tried to escape through the beanfield. If any one of the hundred-ish convoy drivers had wanted a 'battle' then he/she could'v killed cops truncheoning windows- squashed like woodlice between anuverbus at 40 m.p.h. - but not one of us did - for all our hypocrisystems we were a Peace Convoy.
May 1997 maybe Westminster elections - perhaps they'll Con us again -
else a hung parliament, Lib/Lab/Welsh/Scots, Rainbow Alliance,
Glenda Jackson PM?, a new age of consensus, justice, trust, compassion...
...and a glorious summer solstice sunrise...

~~~ LETTER FROM KARELIA 12march1997
~~~ Dear Stonehengers, ~
I'm voting from Wandsworth Eco Village -
I want an open decentralised hung parliament at Westminster, with PR, EEC, UN,
etc ~
I saw somewhere the exact date of Jesus' birth, a day around 7BC
when the planets, comets and stars aligned in a special way,
(I've lost the astronomological details).
So his 2000th birthday, Millenium3, has been. ~
For me, that night up Glastonbury Tor, the 'Harmonic Convergence'
was a 'New Age Party', the Mayan New Age, wasnt it? ~
Any excuse for a
party. ~ I want to play my lightshow, (like New Years Eve in the Pilton
Pyramid, (but without troublemakers spoiling it)) And I want to play flute
and tin-whistle solo on Glastonbury Festival's Stage One for 23 minutes
on Saturday afternoon (But I'm allegedly an introvert and a pessimist
- it's their loss if I dont('want' not 'need'))) ~~~~~~~~~ (and in Stonehenge
again) ~~~~~~~~~ ~~ That hundred yards of tarmac which ~~~ ~~ CUTS Stonehenge
and its Avenue ~~~ ~~ should've been grassed up years ago ~~ Then we could
carefully repair StonehengeI by putting new white shining chalk where the
3 or 4 banks were (with an entrance south by the Small Stone Eleven (whatever
the builders called it in old Welsh)) (:} and now we've invented perspex
for the roof :-} ~~~ your cousin ~~ george@dicenews.com ~~~~ PS anywhere
I can park (or bury) an old bus please? (apart from cyberspace www.phreak.co.uk/stonehenge/psb/)

99% FLUFFY means usually letting fools be fools,("an eye for an eye and soon all will be blind" said Ghandi (we all make mist0kes (tit for tat revenge gets worse and worse (99% non-violent but reserving the right/duty to go all the way )))))
(cycling 'cross London lots, spit at cars, Franky Morgan got killed by two)
Last summer, at Wandsworth Eco Village was the best in my life since the year before at Rainbow City (see last year's letter which I've stuck up the web (I got most of my writings and they didn't even half fill a forty pence disk- (I'm an undiscovered popstar - arent we all - wanna play solo flute on Sunday afternoon Glastonbury Stage One ( a pessimist and an introvert (so it probably won't be that bad, and it's their loss if I don't - art? - Art? dont talk to me about art - I'll tell you four colours not in the rainbow - (Dice George Lightshow - will I ever get it up again?
My bus went Inglestone -> Shepton -> Greenlands -> Wales -> Stockport -> Coventry -> WickTip -> Savernake -> convoy -> captured ->WhiteHorse ->

Last week, pubbed, equinox midnight, hopped fence and ran through; unknown torchlight stabbed; but past->south->left->left->back to HeleStone pavement tinwhistling -> Hail Bopp!

PS magenta, black, white, grey, and pink.
PPS "It's never too late to have a happy childhood" (painted at Stonehenge Free Festival, 198?, up the top of the main drag, to the right of the mounds, by the blue and white tibetan marquee).
Food was planted in 'raised beds' - the land was polluted - Permaculturists make do with what is.
For seven days we worked, then on the eighth we partied - Heathens All played in the Roundhouse, builders hammered, kids energised, Channel 4 filmed, Jules glowed, the local vicar blessed, Pendragon preached, and Zoe seduced George! Many left, many arrived; the more you put in the more you got out.
Half the site we left as wilderness, the rest evolved.
In October we built a winter kitchen (food, food, food!) Decisions were made at Wednesday evening meetings, amongst the bullshit much wisdom was shared for those with open ears. One bully was asked to leave by a meeting ("tell us why you should stay"), he refused, we didn't have time to resolve this at the next meeting because we were suddenly evicted after one last Open Day with music from new Age Radio etcetera.
During the eviction they unnecessarily chainsawed ten mature trees, infuriating the locals (trees are the lungs of London).
A week later Guinness were refused supermarket planning permission - The land is bulldozed - no dens for boys or foxes or nests for birds .
That five months was like five years, thanks Bill, Charlotte, Anya, Jarrad ...
thanks y'all

~Letter From Karelia~ Good lift to Glastonbury, danced, talked, listened (let's rebuild the chalk banks of Stonehenge I), raced Merlin up the Tor, borrowed that book off Mutoid Ritchie and scanned that picture for Festival Eye Back to Kew, cycling around London, clicking up the World Wide Web, then hitched to equinox, we picked up Arthur, to pub, fixed next September's meet, then Midnight hopped the fence and ran, torch light stabbed, but I ran through stroking Stone Eleven, then south, and back to the Hele Stone Avenue pavement, where I played tin whistle -
Hale Bopp!

July I paid for a vehicle pass to the Big Green Gathering, then drove my bus out of London to the Stonehenge trackway. Slept in the track with a morning view of the Stones. Revisited the dip in the nearest Mound where we used to firesit and watch and hear the life of Stonehenge Free Festivals upto 1984. Walking up the Avenue that night, it became clear that there used to be two hele stones, left and right.
